Salt and Chilli Chips

Servings 2 people


Salt and Chilli Seasoning

  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 3/4 tbsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese Five Spice
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Ground White Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Chilli Flakes

Salt and Chilli Chips

  • Oven Chips
  • 2 Fresh Chillies
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Green/Red Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1/2 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Rice Wine


  • Preheat your oven according to packet instructions. While oven heats, mix your salt and chilli seasoning ingredients in a small bowl and set aside. Put your chips in the oven once preheated.
  • Whilst chips cook, chop the chillies, onion, and pepper. Wait until a few minutes before your chips are cooked before moving on to the next step.
  • When chips are almost finished cooking, heat up your sesame oil in a pan and fry the chilli, pepper and onion on a high heat until they begin to caramelise.
  • Add the salt and chilli seasoning mix to the pan and coat the vegetables for a further minute, Once coated, add the soy sauce and mirin.
  • Add cooked chips to the pan and stir to coat in the chips and spice mix. Once thoroughly coated, serve and enjoy.
